Ingdahl quoted on nanotechnology

Jacob Arfwedson quoted Eudoxa's Waldemar Ingdahl regarding the regulation of nanotechnology in Europe in his The Pulse article Growth limits, anyone? of January 12th.

To clarify Mr. Arfwedson's quote he is referring to an article written by Waldemar Ingdahl in the Swedish daily business newspaper Dagens Industri on December 18th.

In his article Ingdahl raises the topic of the plans for a European "nano- REACH", that would require the registration and evaluation of new substances, and the nanotechnology industry is a main producer of new chemical substances. If the industry would have to register everything this innovative emerging technology would be driven out of business before even starting.

The greens are already gearing up to go after nanotechnology (as seen in this from Friends of the Earth), and with REACH recently being instituted, Nanotech might be the next area of battle.
