No cure for cancer

In his The Pulse article Genes (and Patients) Turning Against the Body of April 18th, Anders Sandberg discusses the findings of Jarle Breivik at the University of Oslo that there is no cure for cancer.

This "evolutionary view" suggests that there is no "cure for cancer". There is still much we can do about it, but we should not expect any neat solution. Sandberg asks if this change of cancer into a chronic disease could spell more changes of our perception of health. Could it be that our current health care systems are largely constructed on assumptions on health that have been shown not to be true?
