Biased happiness
In his The Pulse article Happy to be biased? of May 2nd, Anders Sandberg writes about mood enhancement therapies.
Paradoxically, we have more knowledge and tools at our disposal to affect the mind than ever before, but we are less certain than ever about what tools ought to be used, why and what their effects are.
The severely diverging stakeholder interests create new conflicts in health care. To balance between the extremes requires an active dialogue with doctors and other stakeholders in treatment, something that does not come about much in the current system. Real patient choice requires patient dialogue.
