Program declaration for Techne

Or at least setting a standard for myself.

Unfortunately, I think that the Swedish bloggosphere still is a bit immature. Granted, I being tough on the toddler (it has been around for about a year or so), but it is important to try to raise the standards.

I do think that there is still a bit too much focus on commenting, discussing and critizing from an agenda made up by the mainstream media. This makes the Swedish bloggosphere too insecure about its choices for topics, and all too prone to the quick punditry of day-to-day politics. At its worst its just gets whiny and bithcy.

The bloggosphere will probably always contain some wonkism and parasitizing on sources with bigger opportunities to set the agenda (printed or digital). But if the bloggosphere does not provide more content on its one it will start to loose interest.

There has been a lot of conspiratorial thinking from the left about the bloggosphere as a Timbro-driven conspiracy. For the most part it just depends on the sad fact that the intellectual left has stopped thinking about ideas and spends all too much time tracking the opposition. But a partial explanation is that first blogs seemed to be right-wing and all too similar.

So, being a humble man, I take it upon myself to address this. I promise to try to keep up the same standards I set up for myself when I get published in a newspaper, with my posts on Techne. If you catch me wonking and fisking too much, please give me some feedback- it would be appreciated.
