Inhuman or posthuman? Limits to body modification?

Ronald Bailey's new Liberation Biology seems to be a very interesting book. The opportunities opened up by the fields stemming from our knowledge of genetics are staggering. This prospect is welcomed by some, but causes a great deal of anxiety in many people: Are there enhancements whose benefits would come at the price of our humanity?

But in Bailey's recent article he shows what has increasingly become a trend, an increasing number of bioethicists are thinking about the opportunities of human modification, and are not rejecting it out of hand. The trend is also seen in Europe, so I think that we might see a very exciting debate rising soon.
