Munkhammar vs. Leonard

This Thursday I visited the debate Johnny Munkhammar vs. Mark Leonard here in Stockholm.

It proved to be a heated debate, and readers of this blog probably know by now that my opinions are closer to Munkhammar's, so the more interesting part was to listen to Mark Leonard.

Perhaps my expectations were a bit too high, or Leonard was just tired from the travel to Stockholm, but I found him a bit shallow even by traditional left-wing standards. Just saying that everything is OK in Europe, and advocating som vague reforms is not enough. There is a talk about a rift between the political and philosophical left, and maybe we see it in reformism.

Maybe Lenin did get off with the last laugh after all. Still, I'll read Leonard's book with great interest, and hope to get back to it soon.
